The Ear Point Nobody Talks About (And Why It Matters for Jowls)
If you've tried jawline squats, chin exercises, or pinching techniques for sagging jowls with little change, I want to show you something that might be the missing piece.
Most Jowl Advice Focuses on the Wrong Spot
Almost every piece of jowl advice out there focuses on the jaw and chin — strengthen the muscle, tone the area, pinch and release. And muscle tone genuinely matters. But there's a fascial anchor point that almost nobody addresses, and it's not where you'd expect.
The Ear Point
Just above and in front of your ear sits a fascial anchor point connecting into the temporal region — the side of your head. This point plays a direct, structural role in how your lower face holds itself, including your jowls.
Here's why: the fascia holding your lower face in place doesn't only run along your jaw. It anchors up and back, near your ear too. When this anchor point becomes tight — what I call Fascia Glue™ — it creates a downward pull on everything below it, including your jowls. You can work your jaw muscle all day, but if this anchor stays restricted, that pull continues regardless.
Why This Gets Missed
I think the reason this point receives so little attention is simple: it's not intuitive. When people think about jowls, they think about the jaw and chin, because that's where the visible sagging appears. It doesn't occur to most people to look further up and back toward the ear for the actual anchor point creating that pull.
This is a pattern I see throughout fascia work generally — the place where a problem is visible isn't always the place where the actual cause is located.
How to Release It
Locate the point just in front of and slightly above your ear. Using two fingers, apply firm, sustained pressure — not sliding, just holding. Hold for 20-30 seconds, breathing slowly, then gently guide the tissue upward and back toward your hairline, holding the lift for a few seconds. Repeat on both sides, two to three times each.
Because this point sits close to delicate tissue near your ear, gentleness matters more here than almost anywhere else on the face. You're aiming for sustained, moderate pressure — never anything sharp or forceful.
Why Patience Matters
Releasing this anchor doesn't just work the local area — it can ease the structural pull running down into the jowl and lower cheek. But like most genuine fascial work, this isn't an overnight fix. Consistent practice over several weeks tends to produce real, noticeable change.
